Weight Loss Tips for Women
All too often, women see or are given bad advice to help them shed unwanted pounds. Starvation diets are counterproductive, and excess cardio to burn off a single cheat meal can lead to hours of time on the treadmill. For women who are just starting out on their weight loss plan, or even if you’re a veteran of the diet scene, here are some basic tips to help you succeed and keep progressing in your fitness quest.
Tip #1: Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables - Have you ever heard of someone getting fat because they eat too many fruits and vegetables? Me either. Fruits and vegetables provide fiber to help you feel full and satiated, keeping hunger away longer, and allowing meal portions to become more efficient for the body. Fruits and vegetables should be eaten with every meal or protein shake, and as an added tip, eat them before the bulk of the meal. This allows you to reduce calorie consumption from other foods, and fiber helps to keep blood sugar levels more stable.
Tip #2: Eat protein with every meal and shake - Women tend to not eat protein as frequently as men, and I suspect this has to do with their fear of becoming “bulky”. Protein is the building block of muscle, and more muscle means a body that burns more calories throughout the day. Women will not get bulky from
protein, and building muscle is essential to a lean and sexy body.
Tip #3: Eat a healthy breakfast, every day - Breakfast is the most skipped meal of the day, and this habit must be changed. Eating a proper breakfast sets the tone for the rest of the day, and refuels your body after a long fast (sleep!) A proper breakfast does not mean a Pop-Tart or a cup of coffee. Take time to cook yourself a nourishing breakfast with protein, grains, fiber and some healthy fats. You will notice the difference almost immediately.
These are just a few tips that can lead to a much healthier lifestyle, and a more fit and energized you. Feed your body with the proper foods often enough, and you will see that weight loss and body improvement are much more attainable than you thought possible.
